Guided Walking Tours

Refunds or exchanges are available under the following conditions:

  • a Walking Tour is cancelled by the organizers due to severe thunderstorms in the forecast
  • a Walking Tour fails to achieve the minimum number of participants

Full payment is required at time of booking.  Tickets will only be released to the purchaser once the ticket order is paid in full.

Port Hope House Tour (PHHT) accepts the following payment options: Mastercard, Visa, debit or email money transfer. Cash and Cheques will not be accepted at this time. 

PHHT reserves the right to change prices without prior notice and are entitled to implement ticket purchase. 

Any person joining a Walking Tour, regardless of age, must be able to provide printed or virtual evidence that they have purchased a ticket. Young children, under the age of 15, must be accompanied by an adult only if they have a ticket.

A ticket-holder must ensure that the holder and any minors or others for whom the holder is responsible conduct themselves appropriately and in a manner which is not determined by PHHT to be objectionable or disturbing to other patrons.

It is the responsibility of the ticket-holder to check their ticket for the correct Walking Tour, day of the week and start-time. A missed Tour will not be refunded. Walking Tour Guides will not wait more than five (5) minutes for latecomers, nor for any persons leaving the Tour part way through the Tour. 

All Walking Tours begin promptly as scheduled, and there are no refunds for latecomers.

In the event a Walking Tour(s) is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled, or moved, PHHT will attempt to contact the purchaser to inform them of the status of the Tour(s) purchased, and to inform them of any refund, credit, or exchange procedures.

PHHT is committed to honouring its Walking Tour Schedule. All Walking Tours will proceed as scheduled except in the case of severe weather forecast (thunderstorms), or the minimum number of Walking Tour participants is not reached (Port Hope House Tour requires a minimum of five (5) participants).

If a tour is cancelled for any reason, Port Hope House Tour will post a notice on its website, www.porthopehousetour.com, and will attempt to notify ticket holders, but assumes no liability in the event it fails or is unable to do so.

PHHT requests that Walking Tour participants respect the houses, buildings, private property, businesses and public spaces while on a Walking Tour.

Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes and body scents that may disturb or cause allergic reactions of other Walking Tour participants.

For guests with restricted mobility, PHHT will, on a base efforts basis, attempt to accommodate Walking Tour participants using their own assistive devices.

Virtual House Tour

All sales are considered final. Refunds or exchanges are not permissible. Full payment is required at time of booking. Tickets will only be released to the purchaser once the ticket order is paid in full.

Each ticket purchaser will be sent an email-acknowledgement of purchase at the time of purchase. On October 2, 2021, each purchaser will receive a link by email from PHHT to access the Virtual House Tour.

Each purchase entitles one person to view the Virtual House Tour. PHHT expects purchasers wishing to view the Virtual House Tour together in groups will each purchase an individual ticket.

Each purchaser will have access to the link for up to 10 days, that is, until October 11th. This will allow purchasers to watch some or all of the Virtual Tour as they wish, and rewatch parts or the whole Tour during the 10-day window.

The link to the Virtual House Tour may not be shared, as it is intended solely for the purchaser’s use and enjoyment of the content.
