Get a in-depth exploration of the stories and histories of more than 30 properties and points of interest in the Heritage District of Port Hope.

This 90 minute (approximate) tour will take you on an easy stroll past some of the most recognizable landmarks in downtown Port Hope. Our knowledgable guides will tell you all about the buildings you go by and the people who built, lived or worked in, and restored them.

Guided Walking Tour
Pine Street

Pine Street is a rich mix of architectural styles and the stories that go with them.

You'll find schools, churches, manors and coach houses, and learn about the merchants, lawyers, harbour masters, and politicians who lived along this street. Three of the properties you'll pass will also be featured on the Virtual Port Hope House Tour in October.

Guided Walking Tour
Dorset Street

Some of Port Hope's oldest and most unique homes can be seen along Dorset Street West. From architecture common to many of the town's heritage properties to the only Beaux Arts style home, Dorset Street West has a little of everything.

You'll also learn about some of Port Hope's strangest and most famous inhabitants, including a tightrope walker, a dentist, a treasure hunter, and a nuclear scientist.
